Does Bruce Pearl say to himself....

There is no way I'm going to be able to win the SEC with Calipari heading up Kentucky but I can recruit some players and win the Big10 nearly every year. Plus I would love to stick it to Illinois.

Iowa just might look appealing to him.

Win the Big10 nearly every year? Even Izzo doesn't do that.

But I think Pearl could give Iowa a potential shot at the Big10 nearly every year and put the Hawks in the top tier every year.

There is also a difference between competing with one of those teams, and four teams that are just slightly below that level.

Bruce has a win over Kentucky this season, despite the ups and downs his program has suffered through and the youth of his team...besides, why would we want a coach who was coming because he's scared of some competition? I hope Bruce does come...I just hope it's not because he's scared of Cheatapari and Kentucky.

Also, Wall is one and done, Bruce won't have to worry about him next season if he's still at Tennessee.

Wall is one player in the arsenal of the Calipari recruiting machine. Have you seen the kids that have not signed LOIs in the top 50? I'm pretty certain that a few of them are keeping an eye on what Wall does. If he leaves, another 5 star comes in and takes his place.

Who seriously thinks things like this up?

He is afraid of coaching competition, so he goes to the Big 10? You seriously think the Big 10 is the place to go when you don't want to compete against great coaches?

Calipari will get caught, or do you guys think this time will be different? Give it a year or two, UT will be the team to beat in the SEC. Plus, there is no way we can pay Pearl, he's making a boatload of cash right now. Looking back, I think it was a big mistake for Barta not to give Alford a raise to try to keep him around.

Calipari will never get caught. Ever. He hasn't yet, and he never will.

However, he does move on pretty quickly. If you think Cal is going to set up shop in Kentucky for 15 years you're wrong.

My guess is that Bruce Pearl is saying to himself "man...we really got crushed by Kentucky in the SEC tourney. Well, time to get my boys ready for the Big Dance!" And being the next head coach at Iowa is not even an after thought to him.

+1, seriously? If any coach thinks like this, I don't want them to be the next coach at Iowa. Not that I think Pearl is the next coach at Iowa.

And that kid still won't be Wall...and it's not like Bruce is sitting on Rocky Top, trying to defeat Kentucky with slugs...

Cal finds guys like Wall all the time. Dejaun Wagner, Derek Rose, Tyreke Evans, probably Brandon Knight next year, as long as him and Worldwide Wes are working together they'll keep rolling out stud freshman every year.

Exactly. Some people just want to argue for arguments sake. At some point they are bound to be right, just not this time.

Calipari is connected. He's at probably THE top institution to play ball. Doubtful many would turn him down if he or world wide Wes came calling.
