We are engrosed in a historical season of Iowa football. We need everybody, including us fans, to do their part. There are two points I'd like to bring up.
1 If you talk to or are in contact with the players: Don't go piling on compliments giving them a big head. Too many times teams that are having a magical season lose games at the end of the year to average teams because they get a big head. It would be better to talk to them about how close their games are or how they have a lot of room for improvement. Motivate them rather than help give them a big head. If you see one of them at a party or some place they shouldn't be remind them they have a very special football season going on and maybe they should be thinking about their team. If you just fill their heads with compliments you are detrimental to the team!
2 Cheer louder and prouder! Their are a lot of people that like to sit on their hands and not cheer. There are also lots of fans that cheer minimally or only after good plays have already happened. PLEASE CHEER MORE! We are on the verge of going to the National Championship or Rose Bowl! For gosh sakes cheer like it! Don't just cheer after good plays but when the plays haven't started or are happening. When our opponents are audibling cheer at the top of your lungs. Do your part to help the team!
