Do you realize....?

We are 5-3 and have a good shot of going 2-2 or 3-1 in our next 4?

I'll admit this is bittersweet.

On one hand, I (like most of you) was expecting another subpar season, due to the inexperience. So that's awesome.

On the other, no offense to Kirk, but I think his time here has came and gone. We need someone who will put in an offense that is more alive, and adapts to the current landscape of NCAA. Winning seasons won't get him the boot.

Wisconsin - our biggest strength here is that it's a home game, coming off an exciting win last week. Fans will carry momentum into this and could play a big factor (hey audio/video, mind stayin on top of things this week?). I'd give us a 15-25% chance of winning this game.

Purdue - should be a win. A comfortable win getting our starters some rest, minimize injuries going into bye week.

Michigan - I'm most worried about gallon. But this game is on my birthday, and I think we pressure #98 (I still laugh at that number selection and will never address him by name again). I'm gonna give us 60-80% chance of winning our final home game. We should be fresh, healthy and ready to be ranked with a victory here.

Nebraska - in an unexpected and welcomed twist of fate, WE come to this game ranked #24, and Nebraska unranked. We go to Lincoln and steal an ugly game. 24-17. We end the season ranked #22, 8-4, with a New Year's Day bowl game.

From the players that I have class with, I'm told last years team had no cohesion, and this years team is a tight unit. I'm buying that.

Also, I'll predict a bowl game vs the ol ball coach and his game cocks. I always hate playing them because it creates internal conflict, as these are my 2 favorite teams (I lived in cola for a few years. If Iowa is the #1 party school, USC is the champion)

Did you listen/read what you wrote..... if they finish 8-4 and a New Years Day bowl.... how is that any indication that KF's time has come and gone?

I'm very aware of what I wrote. This is an anomaly, not an indication of coaching. We should have beat NIU, and our offense is second half stagnant because opposing coaching staffs are making adjustments and were either not, or even worse, we are and they're horrible.

This is another season we are winning in spite of KF, not because of.

But to be honest, I'm not as upset about him as I have been in the past because the players love him.

I agree we do need to find some way of mixing it up after half time. Weve seen it happen a lot this yr when a team makes halftime adjustments against us and our offense has no answers for it. I just hope it doesn't catch up to us these next few gms.

Do you realize....after reading this, I call BS on there being "players in your class", because theres no way youre in college, and typing this way.

I want the hawks to win every game but Kirk ensures that won't happen with a guarantees bad loss or 2 every year. Even in our best years like 02 we **** the bed at least once. We need to realize we're fools for thinking 6-6 would be a good year this year. Kirk should of had us at a level where 6 is rock bottom.

Eh, this seems like a reach.. I don't think the OP said he "wants Iowa to lose". Just sounds like he wants a coaching change.

Yes, and he expressed disappointment that winning seasons aren't going to cause a coaching change. He wants Iowa to lose, so he gets his coaching change.

Here's the struggle, or the rub, if you will.
Yes, we can go 2-2 in the next four. Yes, we can even go 3-1 in the next four.

We can also, quite easily, go 1-3.

Iowa gets better nearly every week. The question is if they improve enough each week to take on the team at hand. There is no question (in MY MIND) they can play with — and beat — every team remaining on the slate. tOSU showed they can hang with any team in the B1G.

But have a penalty filled day, or a bad hands day, and they can also lose big.

I'd love to see a Black Friday win over Nebby (that then results in the firing of BP), or an upset over Wisky or MEECHigan.

But realistically, this team could easily end up 6-6.

NIU is undefeated, trucking everybody, and their QB is pulverizing records as he prepares for a lucrative NFL career.

Losing to NIU is the least of our problems. Should have beat them, didn't, oh well. Now...habitual second half suckitude should concern everyone, especially since Kurt seems to brush it off as "that's football." Getting outcoached like that on a weekly basis is a giant red flag.

I can't state it enough, this is a Valid complaint and deserves some criticizm and demands to be fixed. I am regularly called a KF "apologist", which IMO is one of the stupidest things stated on these boards...that said, being outscored 50something to 7 is the 2nd half this season just can't be coincidence....and needs fixed...pronto.

We have seen significant changes with Iowa football in the past two to three years revolving around coaching, offensive and defensive schemes, about everything you can imagine. We are now blitzing, our DBS don't give receivers ten yard cushions, we have lineman standing up, we go no huddle, we've replaced all our coaches, everything needing to be done is being done. Get rid of kf? Really? Ok

Agree with you on many things - however can't agree with this.

Never can I see losing to a MAC team at home EVER. Honestly never should have lost that game was a collapse.

NIU is rolling up horrible teams - ya they are a solid team.

But the day I can stomach losing to MAC teams at home.... no way.

I am not sure what to think about this program but I know one thing that there is a HUGE problem with personnel decisions made and influenced by the head coach. That is part of the reason things get bogged down.

Game on the line in the 4th quarter we come out with the tight package, single wide out set and who is the receiver we send out? Yes, not Damond Powell who is the fastest player on this team and has demonstrated an ability to catch the ball and make big time plays. No we come out with about our 5th or 6th string wide out in McCarron who is an underneath route/possession receiver and send him on a deep route. Go figure he could not get separation on the deep route and the play fails. I am not sure McCarron had been in the game as a wide out at that point so was that a typical KF having to throw a bone to another underdog player? Look I do not dislike McCarron but that was not the time and place for him and gosh darn it can we get the most explosive wide receiver that we have on the field and throw the ball to him down the field!

His program is riddled with stupid personnel mistakes. Just watch the game and laugh at the comedy.

This is a good Wisconsin team and we could get rolled if we keep this Mickey Mouse stuff up.
