Do we all see the light?

It's about execution. We are what we are. When it works it's great, when it doesn't Greg Davis sucks and the game has passed Kirk by. Enjoy the day guys. lll crawl back in my cave and continue and enjoy reading...

I just remember how ****** I felt after the NIU game and then after the Missouri State game, now that seems such a long time ago.

I'll disagree here. It's also about talent, strategy, and even about luck. To only focus on 1 of the 3 you can control is a mistake imo.

The win is great to be sure. But the personnel decisions the coaches use give me a headache sometimes. For instance, see below.

Against Nebraska today.

Jordan Canzeri accounted for 31.3% of the total offensive yards (88 yards out of 282 total yards)
Jordan Canzeri accounted for 11.4% of the total plays run (7 touches out of 61 plays)

7 touches for this guy. I don't get it. I don't care about what they see at practice anymore. What he has done on the field is more impressive then just about any other offensive player they have right now. My only concern with him at this point is durability. Can he take hits game after game?

Did it ever occur to anyone that they use weisman to take to take a toll and wear down a defense before they put Jordan in? Ok bye bye now

I think the second bolded answers the first. Even with limited touches, Canzeri was getting up slow on a few plays.

I'm glad he gets to rest up a bit before the bowl.

If he can only handle 7 touches in a game, he might not be a good fit for D1. He had twice as many (14) touches last week against Michigan. Had 20 against Purdue.

The only time I saw him get up a little slow today was that stupid pass play across the middle. Ruddock should never throw that pass again.

I'm really not trying to argue you with you bud, and I agree that Jordan is a talented back. He will get his touches in the future and more so than today. He provided when called on and wasn't needed much after that. Just trying to answer doubts. I'm not saying I'm right either...

Like the other response to your comment about durability, it makes sense now right?

I am only speculating about durability. I never said that's why he hardly touched the ball today. He had 20 touches at Purdue and 14 against Michigan. Why only 7 today?

Running Canzeri up the middle on 1st down and Weisman on a stretch play on 2nd down is dumb coaching.

Why don't they bring in beathard every time within the 5. He always runs the bootleg for touchdowns. Coaches are dumdums

Distributions are like, and related to, "balance", that is, they are something to strive for. It wasn't quite a 50% distribution today. First we only had 45 rushing attempts and I was sure we were over 50! And we were run heavy as far as "balance" goes. Second, we had seven guys run the ball today. Now I will lump CJB and JR together on this one because CJ would have never played had JR not tweaked his knee-so for this exercise we will use 6 ball carriers.

In a perfect world a normal 50% distribution for 45 ball carries would look like something like this:

23
12
6
3
1

So we had one to many ball carriers, our number two guy didn't get enough carries and our number three guy(QBs) got to many. So what difference would meeting the distribution percentage have theoretically made you ask?

In theory there were maybe 50 yards total to be gained and the average would have jumped up a yard.

If you look back at last week you would see that we were a lot closer to being a perfect normal 50% distribution. We pretty much destroyed the Huskers today and yet we just got by the Wolverines. Perhaps, for those who think Iowa is to predictable, the coaches run MW to the outside and JC up the middle just to break predictability.

The effort today wasn't as close to theory as it could have been but they got the "W" anyway. If you look back at the stats for the entire season you would see that all of the games the Hawks lost were nowhere near a 50% distribution. Four of the winning games were pretty close to the ideal and the other four were not much different than today's game.
