DMR: Keno not coming, Iowa says no to Brownell

Good I'm glad we eliminated Brownell...now we just need to eliminate Boylen, and Kennedy.
and MAYBE Wojick

As Rick Brown notes in his blog the fact that at least one candidate that we know of has been informed he has been eliminated from consideration suggests the search may be coming to a close. Might be interesting to see whether other coaches named in the various accounts from the past couple week also are being told they are out.

I saw a tweet that Boylen was also eliminated but I haven't been able to find any confirmation anywhere

Well at least Brownell is out. Also Boylen from Utah this via tweet from HR:
@HawkeyeReport Coaching names falling off the board today: Brad Brownell, Jim Boylen, and Keno Davis denies the rumor mill.

That leaves most likely candidates as Tulsa's Wojick, Murray State coach (don't care about his name) and probably looking like Dayton's Brian Gregory is the favorite. Not sure I'll scream "Iowa basketball is back!" with any of these guys but Gregory's team looked at least exciting to watch. Hope he can recruit against his mentor!

I think Gregory will indeed be a quality recruiter and his style of play will be exciting. Now will that lead to the amount of victories we all want to see...I don't know...

Gillispie is a name that would spice it up for me.
Forbes would give me hope.
Gregory is acceptable, but only at a reasonable price.
Wojcik? Not sure.

Yeah...at Dayton!! And did some at MSU but even since he's left, MSU still gets loads of talent. So how much of it was Gregory or Izzo? MSU is little easier to recruit to than Iowa as well but out of these names mentioned at least he has BCS recruiting experience.

At least we're setting our goals high going for the coach from the 7th best team in a non-power conference

Wojcik has produced the kind of results the Hawks are looking for at Tulsa.....much better than Gregory has done at Dayton. Wojcik, it apprears, has hired guys that can recruit Chicago and the aau's as his assistants at Tulsa. This might be the right guy from a distance. Mich St ties also, as an assistant, if you value that experience. Appears that Wojcik could be the right guy for the job.

If Drew is out, Wojcik would be my favorite and for the reasons you mentioned.
