Dienhart ranks top 7 basketball arenas in B1G

OSU's new digs, while pretty, is not intimidating to opposing teams, imo. The Buckeyes have won because they have been very good teams under Matta. Now the old St. John's arena was a real den (loud and unforgiving) to play in as a visiting player.

I don't necessarily agree with the order but do agree those 7 are the toughest places to play in the Big 10. Carver is further down the list than he has them, imo. The Fieldhouse was another story....really loud!!

Carver is much improved on the inside, but the outside of the 1983 portion of the building is still faded and "old" looking.

Was disappointed when they didn't upgrade/repair/restore the outdoor of the arena along with everything else.

I don't know how Michigan's arena as a hole ranks, but just how close there student section is on the side of the court is, I'd figure theyd be on the list. Looks great on tv. And I really like Gophers elevated court and it has a lot of history so its good there.

I, too, wondered why Crisler wasn't on that list. With students near the floor doing their best Cameron Crazies imitation and wearing their maize shirts, on TV at least it looks intimidating.

Have never felt Carver was an especially challenging place for opponents with the seats away from the floor and students not near the benches and most student seating several rows up.
