He was a pretty highly rated kid out of HS. Lickliter did recruit him and was one that missed out on. I believe we were in his top 4 if I remember correctly.

According to the story it appears that his performance dropped off considerably. I wonder why? Hmmmmmm.

I am fairly certain Russell was down to K-State and Iowa for his final two. It's too bad he couldn't play next year, because he was recruited as a PG and he can definitely play that position at a BCS level. From what I saw from watching K-St. play a handful of times, he has a good midrange game, inconsistent outside game, and can really defend.

From this story and the comments that followed, it sounds as if Martin is one of those coaches that over-recruits and then hopes it all straightens itself out.
