Did you see CJ's hamstring pads? and his armor

Just watched replay of last Nebby game. I noticed for the first time that CJ has hamstring pads in the back of his pants. I didnt see any other player on either side with those. Add in his knee brace and he has a really thick abdomen and maybe rib pads and I can see why he is not as mobile.

I guess he was suited up to withstand the season.

Anyone else know if he has been wearing the hamstring pads all year?

Yes I've noticed this for quite sometime. I honestly don't need to show highlights from 2016 it's a Night and Day comparison!!

there's no doubt he's banged up. He even appeared to be gimpy walking off the field early in the Nebby game.

I fully expect to find out after the bowl game that CJB's knee sprain back in fall camp was more serious/lingering more than we were led to believe. He clearly was not the same guy this season.

I would agree that if we are let in on the truth about CJ, we will discover that he was simply physically unable to perform well this year. There has been a lot of speculation about CJ and his performance, with some saying he does not have that "clock" in his head, that he can't anticipate blind side pressure, that he gets gun shy and eats the ball too soon, that the O line cannot pass block effectively, etc. In my opinion, and it is only that, Occam's Razor strikes again: He is hurt.

I'm enjoying all the folks already declaring Stanley better. Once you accept the special type of stupid that is drawn to message boards, then you can have a hell of a lot of fun with them.

CJ has been a great quarterback, injured or not. Nobody really knows about Stanley; there haven't been that many meaningful snaps for him.....

I think its obvious that Kirk has been injuring players while they sleep as a weird passive aggressive way of getting even with them when they become popular with the fans. Same thing happened with Drew Tate back in the day.

That begs the question why. He has got to be really bad or the coach has issues not to get more snaps.

Josh, you are a special kind. If you want to call yourself that, it is your prerogative.

He is pretty good now but how we he be after KF sneaks into his apartment and hits his knees with a baseball bat in the middle of the night.

Just look at how CJ not only has ran the few times he has this year but look at the times he would have in the past but didn't... He know's hurt and wasn't even trying to at times. Thankfully he had just enough to run that QB draw in the Michigan game... He has no burst and it looks so forced. Look at the ISU highlights from a yr ago. Even on the roll outs he had some giddy up on getting outside to make that throw he made to McCarron. It doesn't have to come out that he's been playing at less then 100% It's been evident all year

One difference this season is teams are "spying" CJ with a fast LB after concluding that our WRs are not a threat. This was clearly evident in the Michigan game. Peppers spied CJ and basically went with CJ wherever he chose to go. It did backfire on them; they should have been spying Wadley!!!!!
