In 2007, did these eleven true freshmen really see the field? If so, amazing how little an inddicator is early success for continued success.
Christian Ballard
Bryan Bulaga
Cedric Everson
Jordan Bernstine
Cody Huntermark
Diauntae Morrow
Colin Sandeman
Jacoby Coleman
Dezman Moses
Allen Reisner
Jevon Pugh

Wow. 7 of 11 of those named left Iowa before completing their eligibility. 6 of whom transferred or quit.

i've always wondered if maybe the staff plays some because they are good and will prepare them for the following year, and plays some because they are good, but that they feel they maybe won't be around long, so take advantage of the short time they will be around. And they play some early because they have no choice due to depth - Reisner for example.

Jevon Pugh - yes, we could have used ya, too bad you got caught up in that thing......

1. Bulaga, Ballard, Sandeman, and Reisner have more than held their own since playing as frosh.

2. Moses, Morrow, and Coleman were behind guys that were still going to be around for quite some time. All of these guys could play, but each was a bit of a tweener. Moses had a really strong game for Tulane against Houston, but it appears as if he was injured. Coleman is playing for Lamar, they got beat 71-3 by Stephen F. Austin this year - Ouch.

3. Everson we know about and I think Pugh's stuff was beyond football as well.

4. Bernstine and Hundertmark just didn't develop as expected. Wouldn't be the first time that happened with in-state kids.

CAAR echos my sentiments. Plus Berstine still has this yr and next to make his mark. JB may still be overcoming his injury a bit.
