Devyn Marble finding his identity with defense, unselfish play

From article:

"When I'm out there, I'm very unselfish, so I create plays for others," said Marble. "I don't just sit out there and jack up bad shots. I just keep moving the ball, take what the defense gives me. If I drive, and [Nikola] Vucevic’s man helps up, drop it off to Vooch. Just making the simple plays; making the easy play has helped us all, I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that."

He's not shooting the ball very well to put it nicely, but its nice to see him out there getting solid NBA minutes and starting. Hopefully he can build off of this first season.

NBA experience is everything and Orlando is a good fit for him to showcase and develop. NBA is a few 5% superstars and 95% role players. Congrats to him.

I wish Gesell and Clemmons would hear Dev's smart words. Dedicate yourself to contributing in the best way you can, in both of your cases, that's distributing the ball and creating shots for others.

So many lament the little scoring Hawks are currently getting from the guards. That's because they aren't scorers. When they think they are scorers, bad things happen.

Mike, Sapp, here's how you make a difference and feel really good about your game ... play gnat-like defense. Learn to read post defense to make a decent entry pass so it's a one-step drop and shoot. Pass the ball like it's a hot potato to Jok, Uthoff and AW. Move the ball by passing, not dribbling (you're not going to break anyone down and drive by them, anyway). Did I mention, pass the ball?

I'm going to harken back to Dev's freshman year at Iowa.
He was getting A LOT of criticism for being 'too skinny' and
undisciplined, as well as other things.

My comment, at that time? Because of his length and scoring
mentality, he 'could be better than his Dad was'. And I am old
enough to remember how athletic his Dad was in the 80s. Roy is
Iowa's all time scoring leader, right.

Well, Devyn has done what I said was possible, when Dev was just an
Iowa freshman. Congrats to RDM and his Dad, as well.

Hopefully Dev is able to stay in the rotation with Evan Fournier back and Tobias Harris due to be back soon. It's awesome to finally be seeing another Hawk play in the NBA to go along with Reggie.

I couldn't never understand criticism of the youngest player playing his freshman barely out of high school. I'm glad Roy raised his son well. He turns out pretty good.
