Iowa extended a scholarship offer to Jaeveyon Morton during his campus visit Saturday. The Detroit cornerback spoke with HN about it:

This guy committed to ISU today. It's not surprising he didn't commit to the good guys since we just offered him two weeks ago, but is fairly surprising he doesn't want to play in bowl games.

I have to think it was a decision based on early playing time. If the offers listed are legit, his other P5 offers were Penn State, Indiana and Iowa. I can almost see ISU over Indiana, but can't think of any valid reason for picking ISU over PSU or Iowa other than early playing time. Or maybe he just really likes great water!

He's never going to make it in the classroom. If you have a chance to go to Penn State, Iowa, or the other Power 5s that will typically come when those two have offered...and you choose ISU...I'm going to put the recruit in the "not very smart" category. Lazard, I give a pass to, since he was a legacy...but people with options should do their homework. Despite Trice Magic, they win 3-4 games every year and have been one of the worst college football programs (facts/history don't lie)...over the past 25 years. I get buying into, maybe, what their latest used car salesman is selling, but damn, you would think some buyer's remorse is inevitable. They must have some kind of reinforcement program after kid's commit, to keep the post purchase dissonance from creeping in. Son, it ain't gonna run when you drive it off the lot.

HOORAY!!

If they win 3-4 games will they sign these kids? The lure of early playing time only lasts for a short time.
