destination does matter

I have spoken with many fans that admit that destination does matter .Don't they get it ?Most Hawkeye fans are not interested in going to New York in the winter to play an east coast team. The match up selections and destinations this year are not based on common sense or any intuitive knowledge of what motivates players and fans .For instance Music City is a terrible match for Northwesstern , they are considered the Ivy League of the big ten not a big Nashville crowd and would be more suited to play Boston college . Iowa going to New York and Yankee stadium ,not a smart choice for mostly cub and cardinal fans , better off sending us to St Louis with a complimentary ticket to ride the ARCH . Bowls are a break for midwestern teams to get a break from the winter weather . So , will sit this one out this year . I have attended five of the last eight bowl games but this year plan on buying the wave t-shirt, and watchng from home with the pause button ready and waiting .

I am sitting this one out as well. The Nebraska game was my bowl game this year. Had a great time in the midwest. I will Fight For Iowa at home.

Northwestern was in the Pinstripe Bowl last year. They beat Pitt 31-24. They have a rule against teams going to the same bowl game in consecutive years. Pinstripe had a choice of either Iowa or Purdue.

By the way Iowa does a fair amount of recruiting in the New York - New Jersey area. Iowa only rarely gets recruits out of Tennessee-Kentucky and none out of the SF Bay area.
