Desmond Hutson in the Transfer Portal

With the emergence of Keagan Johnson and Arland Bruce as freshmen WRs, he probably saw that his path to playing time was going to be very difficult and, at best, a long term thing. Can't say that I blame him, there is such a limited time to make a mark in college football. Best of luck to him.

I agree he left because of a lack of opportunity, but two other points in the article are far more interesting IMO (best of luck to Desmond).

1) Why did they backtrack on the leadership council representation? Did they run this by the external advisory committee? Has this ever come up at a press conference? It seemed like a good solution to broaden diversity in that group.

2) Those numbers on the 2019 class are startling. Will we ever change our transfer portal approach under KF? You lose developmental players like McCall and Fenske, and then end up starting a bunch of underweight freshman on both lines. They plugged holes coming into 2020 at OT and DT, then backed off this off-season.

That being said, the future of this team is clearly in the 2020 and 2021 groups.
