Even when Boone gets back to 100% I think Jackson is at LT to stay

Any chance on Ike getting a medical redshirt? I know he redshirted already, but he missed a lot of time in '15 and probably misses 10 games this year.

Maybe. I'm not going to try to predict what the NCAA would do after the Drew Ott fiasco.

Can we get MVB returning all the punts? Jackson made some poor decisions out there against ISU that could have really hurt us. That last punt in particular.
While we are at it, let's try someone else at kickoffs. Ivory-Martin will be good someday, but that return where he caught it but was luckily out of bounds at the 2 was shades of Jonathan Parker.
Need better special teams decisions going forward.

Seems a lot more like MVB than Ott here. Played two games this year, that's less that 25%.
In retrospect, Ott's case wasn't particularly strong, and it seems like he didn't really get on the ball with it until it was late to do so, whereas MVB's seemed fairly clear and he was definitely on top of it from the beginning.

The difference was that Ott and MVB had not used their redshirts yet when they petitioned for the extra year. Ike has already red shirted.

Yeah using your redshirt for developmental reasons seems to really hurt your chances on the medical redshirt. Doesn't mean it can't happen though. I did read that if you missed 2 years of significant playing time, you can qualify for a 6th year. Ike might qualify for that.
Like you, the Ott thing really proved to me that I don't understand medical redshirts

Ahh. That does make a difference.
My understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, is that to get a medical hardship waiver when you have previously redshirted, you must:
1. Must suffer an injury that is deemed incapacitating.
2. It must occur in the first half of the season
3. Must have competed in 2 games or less, or less than 30% of the entire schedule, whichever is greater.
Seems to me like he should get it if he wants it.

Yes. By rule, he should have that opportunity. But again, the Ott decision was one that keeps me from saying anything definitive.
