Depth Chart for Minnesota

Interesting that Moss got the call as nickel back instead of Turner after Hankins got hurt and Brents slid into the regular corner spot.

Not sure, just have heard that as of now, the plan is for Moss to start.

Yikes. It doesn't make me feel very good that a true freshman grayshirt is getting the start over a much higher ranked recruit. Not to mention he's undersized and lacks speed.

What makes you so sure he lacks speed? Is it the fact that at one point last year he had the fastest HS 110m time IN THE NATION? I would be shocked if Moss is not already one of the faster players on the team. He is also 6', 185, not really undersized.

I think he is the fastest player on the team...period.

Wow...if Phil Parker doesn't like what he sees...next up. Barrington Wade gets his shot. I personally like it. It makes everyone work harder...and if you are practicing better...you get a shot. If I'm a player trying to break through...I'm really happy about that approach.

Can anyone think of an example where a low-recruited guy earned early playing time and didn't end up being good? There are plenty of low-recruited guys that just do nothing, but I cannot think of a single low-recruited guy that got in early over higher rated recruits and then ended up flaming out. Recent examples that come to mind include Josey Jewell and Bo Bower, Josh Jackson (earned nickel spot as RS Fr), Desmond King (earned starting role as true Fr), Bazata (played as RS Fr, started as So), Parker Hesse (started as RS Fr after Ott injury), etc..

If Hankins can't go, and Moss starts over Brents (or Turner for that matter), that's not a good sign. Brents has looked solid, and Turner had a very good Spring. It's hard to believe that Moss would suddenly leap-frog both in two weeks. Something would have to be amiss in Hawkeyeland.

I’m guessing because he’s white and a small town Iowa kid.

Like most other young players who get in the games, he’s probably smart enough to realize the one thing you have to do to play for KF: understand the playbook

What's happened to Creamer? He was supposed to be having a great spring and now he's fallen off the face of the earth.
