Bug eaters done really believe that they beat Michigan State do they? Yes, they hung with them, but without a gift from the officials they lost that game. I do think this will be a tough game, but this team is really not that good and I am going on record stating we win by at least 10 points.

Which part is delusional? In that game, the last drive started with :50 left, down by 6, no timeouts and at their own 9 yard line. 2 plays later they are at Sparty's 30 yard line. I don't really care for how the current rule is written, but if you look at it, the verbiage says nothing about being "forced" out, only specifies "contact" which there was. Like it or not, the refs got that right, based on how the rule is currently defined. Regardless, even if that play gets overturned, they still have :17 left on the clock with a couple of chances to punch it in with Sparty's shaky secondary on their heels and a gassed D line. I'm all for ripping on them for the inconsistent play and the 6 losses, but the bottom line is, they were in that game until the end and finished it off. I see nothing delusional about that

As do I. He just doesn't want to have to eat crow under his former user name. He's in shock that he has to see Iowa's name in the CFP Top 4 before he got to see Nebraska in there! I'm surprised he isn't doing recon for his 500 yard shot at the Debbie AD/HC.

I'm not here to talk ****. I've never been registered here before last week with any username. I grew up in the northeast part of Nebraska and spent a lot of time in Iowa back then. I was a huge Hawkeye hoops fan (Lute was there when I was in high school) and although I'm a life long Husker fan, I don't "hate" any other team. Just love the game (all sports), have an appreciation for what these guys put themselves through and enjoy talking about it. I'm not here making outrageous proclamations about my team, I'm realistic about where they are. I'm also not taking anything away from what the Hawkeyes have done this year and am just hoping to see a great game today. If that is not welcome here, let me know, not trying to stir the pot...

Delusional fan base or not, in nebbys defense, they are almost literally 5 or 6 plays away from being 10-1 or 9-2 or 8-3. At 5-6, while frustrating, their team has been not giving up...today will be no different, no lead will be safe. The weather is really poor there right now and turnovers will be a big factor.

For now, perception is reality...11-0 is a much better situation, iowa has done what you're supposed to do every week...win. But thats why they play the games. Hopefully, by this evening, reality will be reality, and neither fanbase will be delusional going foreward! GoHawks!

They are absolutely delusional, without question. That said, they beat Michigan State in almost every stat and field position most of the game. I know it's cliché, but Nebby truly is far better than their record.

Hawks are +10 in turnovers on the year, nebby is -11. That is the difference.

Hawks need to play well, not give up big plays, and force mistakes.

I hate this 5 plays from 9-2 BS, or better than their record. They aren't, nobody is. They are 5-6 and close doesn't count. They are a bad team, we are 11-0. Can we have some damn confidence in this team?

I believe weather will suck the life out of Nebby once they are down 14 points...if we can get that type of lead...we win 31-20....if we are caught up in a tighter game, it will be higher scoring...but we still win, 34-30.

You stole my thunder I was going to post the same thing. Lol, ISU is 5 plays away from being 6-5. Good teams find a way to win games, bad ones do not......Nebby isn't very good we will find out shortly if Iowa will/should impose their will on them.

Team will be confident and should be. We have an excellent, balanced team when playing well. A truly phenomenal season that I probably spent too much time being guarded and anxious, rather than simply enjoying it. I'm still guilty of this, maybe more so for this game than any.

But If im honest, i haven't been overly confident in any game outside of North Texas this year. And unless you were in the very very very small crowd that truly believed we were an 8+ win squad prior to the year...(I personally thought the ceiling was 9, but 7-8 was likely)...

The Hawks can absolutely win this game and I will pray, beg, hope, yell, and cheer for them to do so with every ounce of my crazy Hawkeye being!!

No early calls or overreaction in game thread this week hawkinn3?

Don't be Delusional that they came back and beat us last year, and own Iowa in this series 13-28-3 as of heroes 1-3.

I hate it when Iowa fans say the same thing! Heard it a ton last year TG that we haven’t had to hear it this year. GO HAWKS!

Apex, I think what many folks think is that the official was wrong to make that call at all. The kNU wr went OB on his own and initiated contact on his way inbounds. The defender was already tracking the ball and wasn't looking at the wr; which was his mistake. He lost track of the wr who was able to make contact and then gain position to catch the ball. If anything it was offensive PI.

Ya, I can't really argue with that. I think the thing about these kinds of plays is that over the course of a season, they tend to effect teams, more or less, fairly equally, but it's more controversial when it's the play that appears to decide the game. I say that because holistically, every call / non-call during the course of the game is contributing to deciding the outcome, but this one came with :17 left so I understand the focus on it. It was a controversial call that we were on the beneficial side of, but, depending on what side you are on, the Huskers either worked to put themselves in that position or Sparty didn't do enough to keep themselves from it.
