Defense of the mid 2000's is Back

I remember back last decade when the team had struggles on offense, there was always confidence that the defense would keep the team in the game. Abdul Hodge, Greenway, Miles and the secondary had control of the game.

I had a crazy feeling today - I feel like we have that defense again. Where I can go grab a beer and relax because this D is going to hold it down. Do you feel the same?

I don't know if this defense is as physical as that team with Roth. We have a lot of young guys at the 2nd and 3rd level that seem to be real good at just doing their job. Maybe it is the D line covering for the inexperience at the 2nd and 3rd levels. I'm not really sure, I just think we are getting great results from the defensive unit we currently have.

This DL has a chance to be better than any of them. We aren't there quite yet in the middle and secondary but we are getting better every week back there. They all need to bring it against PSU.

This D-line might end up being better because of the depth.....legitimately 7 or 8 deep.

Deeper D-line, weaker at LB.....but getting better...and deeper every week due to injury. Secondary deeper now, but big difference is we are faster now. Love it when Hooker comes up like a backer

Sanders too. And Babineaux. Along with Roth definitely made those defenses physical. This defense may be deeper, more versatile, and more athletic than 2002 or 2009.
