David Raih

A bit surprised Iowa has yet to find a place for him. Always had the reputation as an excellent "salesman" and obviously is doing a good job on the coaching side as well. Would love to see him paired up with K. Bell on the recruiting trails. Maybe that day will come.

Well, he spent almost 3 years at Iowa as a grad assistant from 2010-2012 and Kirk never promoted him to full time coach. He basicly has had to beg for a job twice to get started in coaching.

I have to admit, I not sure if his story is all that inspiring. I would rather hear about a guy who's talent was so obvious that head coaches were begging him to come work for them.

see "plan for brian" to understand why. :)

I would truly hope that this kid is a legit consideration when kirk retires. brian should not just "inherit" the iowa football program family business.

Guy has an impressive resume and it keeps growing. There are numerous articles out there that tout his stock. One by an NFL analyst that includes him on a list of potential young names who could receive attention in future years for NFL head coach consideration.

Green Bay thought well of him and now Kingsbury wants him again. Raih isn't begging for anything these days.

I don't think that's it at all....I think David has always wanted to be in the NFL and saw college as a way to get there. Worked out well for all parties involved....

well, i recall he wanted to be the qb coach after KOK left. instead, we got greg davis and he was the "qb coach" when all reports were that raih was a rising coach with potential and he played at iowa. raih was a grad assistant at iowa from 2010-'12. davis came on in 2012. brian came on as a coach at iowa in 2012. so, at minimum, raih didn't get a promotion to an assistant coach position in '12 and brian did.

The way some of you pine for Raih, blazek you’d think they were descendants of vince lombardi or something. The captain has plenty of issues in getting quality staff to iowa city. The fact that these two haven’t made the cut along with another clue- a Culver’s butter burger is all you really need to know
