Went to the WDM Valley v. Iowa City West semi-final girls BB game today - at half time - two students were picked for a 3 point contest - DiLeo hit at least 9 3s and won a year supply of ritz crackers! :) Pretty stroke - shot against a Raridon - i assume that is the football family -
 
David is an animal. He is hands down the best player on the West team. 6'7" and shoots north of 40% from 3 point range.

Hmmmm......interesting..........I started a thread about DiLeo on the recruiting board back in August.

Glad some folks are finally catching on, (like Sherm, Fran, Kirk Speraw, etc).
But, be careful the recruiting 'gurus worry that he's certainly No 'Trent Dickinson'.

Maybe a Dochtermann, or other recruit guru can set us straight on DiLeo's recruitment......

His H.S. team at I.C. West is set to win its 4th consecutive State title. Never been done in history of IOWA H.S. hoops.
 
Just watched some of his highlights on you tube. He looks like a 3 pt specialist. The majority of his highlights are splashing in threes. I did not see him make any plays above the rim. Watching him move I am not sure he has power 5/6 lateral quickness.

Not saying he is not worth a look. Just not certain he is B1G material beyond a 3 ball specialist. He kind of looks like an MVC (UNI) guy that could turn out to be pretty darn good at that level.
 
His dad is a good guy and great skills developer, as well as scout for 76ers. His mom played at Drake. He's also won state tennis titles. The kid with bball and tennis will probably end up with about 8 state titles.

I haven't had the chance to see much eastern Iowa basketball. What's the word on the Bohanon kid. I've heard he is one of the purest shooters in the country .
 
Fran has seen this kid pkay 100 games I'd bet. If he doesn't have an offer by now it is for a reason. i wish the kid the best, but hopefully the days of Iowa bringing in kids with only MVC offers is over. Fran needs to pull in kids like Hutton (Wisconsin offer) Moss (ISU offer) Fleming (Memphis and Florid offers) and Wagner (Minnesota offer)......or even better

I saw Linn-Mar play at Ankeny Centennial a while back and was impressed with him. Can't say he's one of the purest shooters in the country, as I've obviously not seen anyone outside of Iowa play. But he's probably the best shooter I've seen in Iowa this year, save for maybe Hoover's Chris King. The big thing that caught my attention with Bohannon was his athleticism. He looks better playing off the bounce than his brothers and showed some nice moves against Centennial.
 
Gordy should be ashamed of himself for not sreering any of his kids to Iowa. Maybe he's still mad about not getting enough playing time.
