David Bell Visiting for UW Game

Getting him on campus for the biggest game of the year is good and at night, but the pull from Ohio state and penn state is strong. Especially if Iowa offense still sucks by then.

Awesome at least the powers that be have a half a clue on how to try recruiting him in. Now let's get it done on the field and show him we can use WRs to make some plays.

As Chuck said on Monday - this offense needs one homerun hitter. Last year it was Wadley. Maybe this guy could be the guy in a couple years.

Yup somebody anybody.. We need like 4 or 5 what I describe as big plays in a game offensively. They don't have to all go for TDs but they need to be big chunk plays. I don't care if they are out of the running or passing game. It'd be best if 2 were runs and 2 or 3 were from passes or even special teams (whens the last huge return that we've had??) But yeah you can't in todays college football rely on 9 plus play 80 yard drives all game long to win. Occasionally you gotta bust big plays you just do..

But on the plus side, if he values playing time, the odds are good he will get plenty of it at Iowa.

Yeah, if I were playing NCAA 2006 on PS2, I'd really be working him on PT and would probably land him with an on campus visit and an in-home by the HC. My guess is he ain't gonna see a lot of catches by WRs in this game.

Last year in the bowl game AW returned several for big gains.

Very true. There was something about that game be it the field conditions/fact it was the NYC nobody cared about it bowl that just has me overlooking it. I mean they may as well been on an ice skating rink and should not have played it. If those field conditions were for ANY other game they'd post pone it/cancel it. But because it was for a meaningless cash a check bowl game they went through with it. Lucky nobody got hurt very bad during it...

True, he could start the following game at Minnesota. Hopefully the urban Meyer drama and imminent departure could dissuade him from
OSU.

Either he see's an opportunity to play and be the missing cog of a great team or an offense that doesn't value the WR spot. What he will see is an amazing show of fan support and a beautiful light show. Hope that's enough.
