I believe the combine plays a bigger role in undervaluing Iowa potential talent than anti-Kirk thoughts. As a Hawkeye fan, I don’t take glee that two Iowa players are on that list. Jeremiah seems to be suggesting these players have more talent or skill than where they were taken In the draft. That means their value wasn’t immediately recognized.
Why? Why do NFL talent evaluators not have a higher opinion of Kirk Ferentz’s players?
We’re told Iowa does a great job of developing unheralded players for the next level. If that’s true, that should be apparent when NFL teams are on the clock. No Iowa players should be on this sort of list.
Talent is over and underrated every year in the draft. Thousands of examples to pull from. Why? Why do NFL talent evaluators not have a higher opinion of Kirk Ferentz’s players?
Depends upon the franchise somewhat. As a Hawkeye fan, I don’t take glee that two Iowa players are on that list. Jeremiah seems to be suggesting these players have more talent or skill than where they were taken In the draft. That means their value wasn’t immediately recognized.

Buffalo used their first pick on him, there are other Hawkeyes there, team is on the rise a bit, not much pressure, chip on shoulder dynamic, not much of a dysfunctional team, fans hungry for one, one playoff win. Lots of good for AJ out of his drop in the draft. Hope he is a star. Puts Buffalo back on the map.
Stone as well.
Nothing better for recruiting than Hawkeyes making an impact in the NFL.
That is not a bad move.If I remember correctly, the new Hawkeye workout center has a wall dedicated to those Hawks who were drafted, made an NFL roster and played in the NFL. Good advertising indeed.
