How much do you guys expect him to contribute? We lacked big plays last year and his 30 ypc seems to indicate he could be part of the solution to that.

he's not going to avg 30 ypc in the big ten. can't really put much stock into juco stats. i do however hope he brings some quickness to make a few plays in the open field.

I am cautiously optimistic about what DP will bring in. As someone already has stated... You can't put too much in JUCO stats. The competition level is too tough to compare. However, IIRC, he was sought after by other schools... So that's a good sign.
I am concerned with his ability to pick up the offense and build the rapport with the QB (whomever it shall be). It's taken the other receivers/QB's a whole year in the system for it to click. This makes me think we'll need to be patient to get any contributions (which will hopefully be later the season).

Sincerely,
Cautiously optimistic in Waterloo.

Maybe next year, let JC continue the role Powell would he still has something left to prove. Hopefully he has a big year.

Wasn't the only other school calling him like Miami of OH or something?

Eda, I think all the WR are picking things up quicker with WR coach that is on board with the system

Lasbur, if the scrimmage is an indication, this may be true. They obviously didn't have it all down, but looked a lot better than last season. I was very optimistic after watching.
As for Powell, he'll have a ways to catch up and build a rapport with the QB; but I sure hope he does quickly.

You get jucos to step in immediately and produces s we could really use a solid receiver that can get open and make a play. I expect him to
