Damiere Byrd Potential Visit

Interesting list of schools vying for his services. Should be fun to watch who wins out on that list.

4.30 forty and 55m state champ....this dude is fast as lightning...would be a great get for the hawks....

In his video he seems very elusive and quick to get separation. Although they don't play the same position, this video reminds me alot of Brandon Wegher's high school video. Wegher always had good vision and great acceleration.

At 5'8" and 150 if he doesn't get separation he's in trouble.

I hate to say this, but he should go to Florida. Their scheme will allow him to succeed at his size. He could end up being another Percy Harvin.

IMO, there is a place for Mr. Byrd in the Hawkeye roster. I can see plays being added just for him and he definitely has some elusiveness.

Bring him aboard and let him return kicks and punts, run end arounds and catch screen passes...who knows, he may be too small to be an every down WR and maybe he's not...but there's only one way to find out. As for "he should go to Florida"...why? So he can sit behind 3 or 4 other guys who are just like him, but bigger and stronger? Go to an Iowa, where they don't see that kind of speed everyday and could use it somewhere...even if it's at corner and in the return game.

Agreed- this guy could be used in so many ways on our roster... if our staff has the vision to use him appropriately which I think they would.

He reminds me of those receivers on Rudock's Youtube.
Fast and elusive. He looks like he has geat hands and balance as well.
Come To Iowa !!!!!

Don't dismiss the Damiere Byrd talk just yet. Iowa managed to get another offensive weapon out of Sicklerville, N.J., a few years back. He now plays for the NY Jets. I would guess that fact isn't lost on Damiere.

He really does "play bigger" than he looks. Either he was playing weak competition or he has a physical strength that doesn't match his size. I would like to know who the one DB was that caught him from behind on the one break out.
