Dallas Clark Speaking with Recruits

The prospects I spoke with about the discussion were really impressed. Nice to have former players advocating in this way. Dallas is a high-energy guy.

I've said this a dozen times. I would love for Matt Roth to be some kind of ambassador like that. Better yet, I would love to see him get into coaching.

I do realize, after raising three kids with youngest one still in middle school, that family is a huge responsibility. Trying to coach while raising a family isn't for everyone. The last I heard Roth was working a normal 9-5 job and enjoying raising his family. I enjoyed the WATN on Roth from a while ago, loved him as a player, and hope he gets to spend the rest of his life doing whatever he wants.

So, can we get Dallas to coach the TEs and assist in the game planning. I'm sure he learned a few things working with the Colts and Payton Manning on how to exploit your advantages against a defense.

Can you imagine an All Pro TE coming to your house to recruit offensive players? "Well, when Peyton and I were in the huddle and we noticed...."

I'm thinking that may have an impact.

It would really be nice to get some of our former players as coaches, why hasn't this happened?

Maybe he means former players that were great while at Iowa... Clark, Sanders, Greenway, etc

Brian, LaVar, & Mark while all solid players at Iowa, don't quite fit that bill.
The greats at Iowa don't ever need to work again

Don't forget Tom Moore who was just Iowas honorary captain coached them both.... But yeah if Dallas wanted anything at all with being on staff KF/BF need to say yes and ask him what he wants to do...

LaVar had more than a cup of coffee in the NFL I believe he was in league 7 yrs. Never a star or anything but 7 yrs is still twice as long as most folks are in it for
