Dakich is growing on me

I'm kinda liking his style more and more. I mean when the officiating began to deteriorate last night, he wasn't afraid to say so. He talks about things others would normally avoid. Like the UVA fan behind him screaming at the refs.
"I'd like to turn around and tell this guy why the officials are not allowing a substitution here."
The fact that he was a big Hawk homer didn't hurt things either.:cool:
 
I've always liked him, he's different than most color guys but I think he's entertaining and he's not afraid to call out officials or bad play, I prefer that over someone who is trying to spin everything.
 
He is different alright...loves to hate the hawkeyes. He was better last night, but I just have issues with him and how he perceives Iowa after some kid from Indiana screwed up the hawkeye basketball program and refused to take ownership of the problems. :cool:
 
Depends on the situation

Iowa vs B1G Opponent - I do not like Dakich at all
Iowa vs anybody else - Tolerable and at times funny

I was laughing at him in the first half, at first he was complimentary of the officials and letting them play and a minute later he is ripping on them for missing the call on White.

If you think he hates Iowa that's a you problem, he's said several times he thinks we could be the B10 favorites next year.
 
I didn't like the part where he said Basabe was a "disappointment", but other than that he's cool. IMO, these announcers don't have to be so hard on these players. Yes Basabe had a bad sophomore year, but don't blatantly call the kid a disappointment on national TV. Poor taste.

Besides, Basabe has had a pretty good Junior season.

I was still on board with him on that. Like he said, by any definition of basketball, that play was a foul. Even in the Big Ten, that's a play that gets called 99% of the time.
 
Think Dakich is great and has been all year. Calls it like it is for the most part and like you guys said isn't afraid to bash ****** officiating. Not very offended about Basabe callout, as a Hawkeye fan has he progressed as you thought since his Freshman yr? Nothing against Basabe - I love him as a player and very excited to see him bring it all together his senior yr.
 
He is starting to grow on me but I don't believe he should be allowed to do Indiana games. I think he is far too biased to come off as impartial.

Last night he had some funny comments though.
 
DD said that he got a little spittle on his head from a loudmouth fan behind him yelling all night.
 
We don't like him when he calls a game that we lose. We love him when he calls a game that we win.
