Daddy knows best: From Auburn to Alabama?

Quote from the father of Cyrus K via the Washington Post:

"The best thing would be to go to his brother. His brother is already on the field. We know about the coaches. We know about Alabama," Jean Claude Kouandjio said.

Would be very surprised if he selected Iowa. I have read more quotes from this kid's father than anyone else. Family can be a strong influence and sounds like daddy wants him to play for 'Bama ... Who knows ...

Personally, for an offensive lineman there is not a better place to come. But it appears family will decide where he ends up playing and my guess is they won't vote for him to come to Iowa City ... Anywho ... makes nice drama ...

This is starting to bring back memories of Sentreal Henderson.

Not at all. Cyrus is a normal young man, with normal parents. This is a tough decision.

And it's totally understandable for the Dad to want his sons playing together on the same team.

But it seems that Cyrus wants to cut his own path, and I think he's deciding between Iowa and Alabama.

Cyrus comes across as a well-spoken young man but sort of shy and eager to please. DeMatha's a quality school; their student athletes are good folks.

Was that quote made today?

I don't think it was. That sounds an awful lot like what the dad said to the ESPN.com reporter yesterday right after the announcement. It may be 24+ hours old before more of the family discussions took place. Wish I could find the link for that video.
