These days acl tears dont affect athletic ability that much. Doubt rose will lose much in the form of quickness or athleticism.

I think they can still get by Boston (or Atl) without Rose. But they aren't getting by Miami without him.

IMO, losing Rose isn't as big a deal as losing Howard. USA still has Russell Westbrook as a combo-guard option and CP3, Deron Williams, and Rondo as pure points. The drop off among pure centers is massive. Couple that with the fact that the second best country (Spain) will be without their top PG, and I would say that Rose's injury isn't quite as impacting as Howard's.

True. But you wonder how effective he will be. Always depends on the player when it comes to ACL tears. Some can bounce right back while others aren't confident enough to play at 100 percent.
This really sucks.
