Recruiting Insider - Cyrus Kouandjio, Darian Cooper getting close to decisions
With time running down before the beginning of the National Letter-of-Intent signing period begins, DeMatha's two uncommitted linemen are closing in on making their decisions.
All-Met offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio is down to Auburn, Alabama and Iowa, Stags Coach Bill McGregor said. Kouandjio, whose older brother Arie plays for Alabama, is scheduled to visit rival Auburn this coming weekend, McGregor said.
Kouandjio also took an official visit to New Mexico, but it would be a longshot, at best, for him to sign with the Lobos.
Meantime, defensive tackle Darian Cooper, a second-team All-Met, took his final official visit this past weekend, to Iowa. Cooper previously took official visits to Michigan State and Georgia Tech.
"I met with him today and we just have to come up with a decision," McGregor said Monday afternoon. "Everybody wants him to know. I don't want him to lose something he wants."
