Taking the family to KC on Sunday. My youngest one might just be old enough to remember this one.

4 of us from Des Moines will be going down Sunday. Got some great seats right behind the Cubs dugout.

Going Saturday with a buddy who had an extra ticket (provided that the high school team I coach doesn't have to make up a rainout this weekend).

I'll be at all 3 games. I wrote into the royals ticket department 2 weeks before tickets went on sale with my credit card info to make sure I would have great seats for all 3 games. I'm not near as excited as I would be if the Cubs were having a better year, but excited nonetheless. I wen to multiple games every year while growing up in NE Iowa, but have lived in KC since 2004 and the last game I've been to was Sep 20, 2008 when the Cubs clinched the Central against the Cards.

Aw yes the days of postseason play seems like it's been an eternity. Can't believe that it was only 3 years ago. Now I'm even more depressed thinking how quickly they went down hill.

I'll be there Sunday! First Cubs game with the kids! Had tickets to Saturday also but have a high school game to coach tomorrow, which looks like it might get rained out so I might have been able to go dang it!

Too bad the Cubs could only win the first game, and they probably shouldn't have even won that. It was a good time though and I really like the way Kaufman looks these days (I haven't been there since before they remodeled the place). We tailgated today and since my mom has MS she has a handicap tag so we got to park down front. We whipped out the Hawkeye canopy we use for football tailgates and every couple of minutes we had somebody walk by and yell "Go Hawks!" Also had a handful of Nebby fans and one ISU fan spout off at it too but **** them. I overheard one Nebby fan after the game on Saturday say something to the likes of "we are going to dominate the Big 10", I just looked at him and laughed and said "what the **** ever". He tried to offer a rebuttal but his pea sized, Larry the Cable guy brain couldn't articulate anything except "**** Iowa".

Was there Friday night and Saturday; had to head back today to pick up the dogs by six. Hadn't been to Kauffmann since the last time the Cubs were there in 1998, and the renovations they've done to the place look fantastic - like they've always been there.

My son is home on leave and a Cubbies fan, so the wife and I took him Friday for his birthday. Nice night, nice park and a close game.

Couldn't help but laugh at what passes for witty banter at the park though ... "Let's go Cubbies", followed by "Cubbies Suck!!!" ... and naturally, the same in return.

Did see a lot of Hawkeye gear worn proudly. Always makes me smile when we represent with style.

I had a blast at the K on Saturday, even with the Cubs loss (I mean really, who didn't see that one coming?). Got a lot of good pictures, and the place looks amazing.

I really enjoyed the token hardcore Royals fan sitting next to us who was all ****** off about the place being full of Cubs fans.

I will hand it too you Cub fans. You are loyal! I have been a loyal Royals fan since I went to my first game in 1980. I would have loved to see them play the Cubs. Regardless of the season both teams are having.
The Cubs have got to have the top 5 fan base in the Nation or even the world for that matter when it comes to baseball. I would go on a limb and say they have to be in the top 10-15 in any sport period. America loves past time teams that have stayed true to the game like the Cubs. Besides they will always have Harry Carry in heart for ever. It was hard to hate Harry!

WGN has/had a lot to do with that entire second paragraph.

I was at all three, never heard anything from the Royals fans. I would say it was about 50-50 all three days. I was actually surprised the attendance on Sunday was the lowest of the three. They didn't even break 29,000 on Sunday. Friday was 32,000 and Saturday was 38,000.

It was more comical than anything. I didn't hear anything negative from anyone, and it was a good experience overall. Well other than the Cubs losing and it being super humid.
