Silva's a fat oaf that should get beaten up. You can't complain about bad defense when you're a lousy pitcher.

Silva was just a way to fix the Bradley mistake. The cubs don't really want him there. if they could get rid of him they would, but the mariners paid him to much (the cubs are familiar with the problem). Now I say just cut him. If he thinks it is insulting to have to compete for a starting position, that is ridiculous. You're not C.C. or Cliff Lee etc. You're Silva, until last year you won 5 games in 2 years. You're NOT that good. As a cub fan I say cut him and give Cashner or Russel, or Coleman a shot in the rotation.

This sounds a lot like what folks were saying 1 year ago, and Silva turned out to be one of the better pitchers on the staff.

You may want to re-visit his results. He had an above average year, but he was their worst starting pitcher.

After 8-0 start, with A LOT of run support, he ended 10-8, that's finishing 2-8 and then being done with heart issues. He's not a good pitcher, just started well with some luck. Also, he barely went more than 5 innings in those outings, and if he went more than 6 I don't recall that. He forced the BP to be good.
