Crowd Noise for Pro games

Watching Vikings and Saints game It sounds like they are playing the game next to a jet engine. Hard to even hear the announcers . Is it piped noise? Makes it painful to watch at least for me. This crazy year just needs to end

I think Joe Buck said there are about 3000 people all together in the stands and all together. So a lot of fake piped in sound. They must have a variety of crowd sounds to go with good stuff happening for the home team etc etc and some dude has a new job to play the right sound clip. You are correct that the noise is very crackly and loud

I was going to start a thread pretty soon on how lack of home crowd noise may be affecting collegiate basketball officiating.

Any feedback yet? I know the sample size has been small but it seems like early trends show it's helping road teams, and hurting certain coaches (ahem...Izzo).

I said in September that basketball officials may not be affected by hostile arenas as much, and coaches seem to be calmer knowing that their rants are easily audible. Iowa got a huge break late in the Purdue game when we were awarded possession on a play where the ball went out of bounds off Garza's leg. And Painter didn't argue it much.
