I was going to start a thread pretty soon on how lack of home crowd noise may be affecting collegiate basketball officiating.
Any feedback yet? I know the sample size has been small but it seems like early trends show it's helping road teams, and hurting certain coaches (ahem...Izzo).
I said in September that basketball officials may not be affected by hostile arenas as much, and coaches seem to be calmer knowing that their rants are easily audible. Iowa got a huge break late in the Purdue game when we were awarded possession on a play where the ball went out of bounds off Garza's leg. And Painter didn't argue it much.
