Kind of late on this but while at the game I realized how many of the players on both rosters had actually played on that court, in that arena during the state tournament at some point in their high school career. Ten players in total - 3 on Creighton roster, 7 on Iowa roster. Pretty impressive.
Creighton players:
Grant Gibbs (Linn-Mar)
Will Artino (Waukee)
Doug McDermott (Ames)
Iowa players:
Matt Gatens (Iowa City)
Josh Oglesby (Cedar Rapids Washington)
Kyle Denning (Cedar Falls - Northern University)
Zach McCabe (Sioux City Heelan)
Eric May (Dubuque Wahlert)
Branden Stubbs (Des Moines Christian)
Darius Stokes (Linn-Mar)
8 of them won STATE TITLES!
Cody Cox (Waterloo - West) for Iowa and Alex Olsen (Council Bluffs - Abe Lincoln) for Creighton are the only Iowans on either roster I don't believe played at state.
