Could NC State's Tyler Harris end up at Iowa afterall?

I ask this question because it appears NC State head coach Sidney Lowe is going to get fired after this season. And I believe Harris had Iowa, St. Johns and NC State as his final schools, choosing NC State over Iowa because of, and I quote, "I developed a good relationship with the coaching staff..." I have to wonder if Lowe gets canned, does Harris end up transferring and will Fran go after him again? He would play immediately, possibly start, for Iowa by the time he is eligible plus by then we should be a competitive team. What are your thoughts?

He doesn't play, because he is not on the team yet. He has only signed a letter of intent. It is an interesting thought though.

Interesting. He was down to NC State, St. Johns, Providence and Iowa before picking the Wolfpack. From what I read of his decision, he liked the academics, the coaches, the campus and the "style of play" (funny, posters on the Pack message board seem to be where Iowa fans were last year wondering about their team's "system" and style of play.)

Should Lowe be fired and Harris request a release from his LOI, my guess he would want to be closer to home (Troy Hills, N.Y., prep school Newark, N.J.) and see whether Steve Lavin has a spot for him. Lavin has the Red Storm playing well and may not need him.

Providence? Meh.

Could be he'd re-think Iowa, if Fran would have him. Certainly looks like he could contribute.

If he leaves there he will prob go to St. Johns. St Johns has been killing it this season with high profile wins. Not only that but the kid will be able to play in the garden for every home game. I wish I could have a chance like that!!

To be positive St.Johns has a huge talented class he would be bigger recruit here, and he didn't even visit St Johns.

St. Johns class this year is sick I agree. Putting the hurt on UConn and Duke plus squeezing by Gtown all in one season at the Garden, pretty impressive. Those types of wins bring in some serious recruits

As others have posted, if he leaves, I doubt we are his top choice. Lavin is tearing it up at St. John's and I think they have some ridiculous number of seniors (6-7). I suppose it is a possibility, but the timing would be hard to figure out, as Lowe won't get canned until after the ACC tourney / possibly the NCAA tourney, then a new coach has to be named etc.

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Iowa backed off of Harris after Aaron White committed. I think White and Harris are pretty similar. And this isn't meant to disparage Harris at all, but there are a handful of players we are in on I would rather see us sign.

If Lowe is fired then we can discuss further, but for the sake of argument, lets say Lowe is fired and Harris asks to be released from his LOI. Iowa should welcome this kid if a scholarship is available, why wouldn't you welcome a Top 150 player?
I would be shocked if St. Johns has any scholarships available at this point and who wants to go to Providence, they have had multiple players verbal and change their mind of late. If Iowa cooled on Harris, I am guessing it is because they knew something, you don't just stop recruiting a Top 150 kid unless you know he isn't coming, well I can think of two coaches that have in Iowa's recent history.
