Corey Wootton on BTN

Seems like a nice young fella. Well spoken and knowledgeable about the game.

But damn, I can't help but carry some antipathy when I remember sitting in the north endzone on that fateful day and watching him roll Stanzi out of that game right in front of my eyes.

And the Hawks out of a potential B1G title and BCS shot.

Some thing die harder than others at my age. ;)

I don't know about knowledgeable. He predicted Illinois would be in contention for the West. I'm guessing he based that on Illinois 2 stellar wins this year.

Probably came from the same BTN researchers who said Purdue would be playing in a New Years Six bowl game and Frost would have Nebraska slaying all comers this year.

Before last week's game he talked about how Amani Jones had a bad game vs NIU and was replaced, but he responded with a great game against ISU where he was "all over the place". He actually had one assisted tackle vs ISU and I don't know if he even played other than special teams. Maybe he confused him with Amani Hooker. BTN usually does a great job compared to ESPN or Fox in preparation and insight on their weekly shows in regards to the B10 (obviously) so was surprised that slipped in there. But he's new at this so I'll give him a pass for an early mistake. I didn't think Jess Settles was very good when he started on there either, and he had local Iowa City sports experience going in, so plenty of room to grow. Some of them like J Lehman are really fun to listen too, love his energy and lack of bias, and hopefully don't get scooped up by ESPN for my sake as a listener (It's probably a good financial move for them though so can't blame them if they do).

When J Leman and company took over for JDM's show--and let's face it, LaCharles Bentley STILL owes JDM big-time for that--my first thought was, "How in hell did J Leman not get flagged for PEDs or other illicit substances in four years at Illinois? This guy REALLY made it four years past random testing?" He seemed WAY over the top.

But I admit, the guy has grown on me, and he really does know his stuff.
