Conspiracy Theory

Do officials/BIG10 have it out for Iowa this year? Not making an excuse for some of the bad play, but seems like Iowa has had some bogus calls against them. The two obvious ones are the two Daniels runs that have been called back. The holding on Kittle v. NDSU was dubious at best and the cut block v. Rutgers was just terrible. Those are two calls that completely change the complexion of those games.

Something seriously stinks with this officiating. It could be anti Iowa or incompetence I am not sure, but it is one or the other. On the chop block call it was a completely clean block. He was turned to face him and all contact was above the belt. The Kittle call could not be explained away by a change of emphasis either. It was the only holding call of the game. They were letting ndsu get away with holding all game long, including the long qb run on the last drive when Jewell was clearly held. That actually affected the play unlike with the Kittle call. In week 2 the officiating was good. I wish we could just keep that crew with the big arms guy.

You missed the memo....No Iowa breaks.

Officiating is more noticeable when a team is struggling. Also, teams with poorer fundamentals get called more in any sport. That's why Clown fans howl so much. Pls don't act like a clown fan.

Unlike the clowns Iowa plays solid fundamentally sound football every year. They are all very well coached. They know how not to chop block, and I know what is not a chop blocked. Officiating is one aspect of the game that can have an impact. It is fare game to comment on it one way or the other. When they do well I compliment them, when they do poorly I point that out also.

I'm not thinking there is a conspiracy theory in regard to the officials. I think the greater conspiracy is what KF and Phil Parker are doing with our run defense. Intentionally asking our DL to play soft...thereby allowing our defensive players to be on the field longer, so they get in better shape as the season progresses. That's the best I got at this point as to why we look so bad against the run against EVERYONE we have played so far.

Teams playing solid fundamental football don't lose to ISU 9 times, to Regional Michigan colleges and FCS teams that they have 22 more scholarships than. I suggest you look at game film.

You nailed it! That's exactly what's going on! And here I thought you didn't know anything about football. I stand corrected...........
