Connecticut QB Will Levis Includes Iowa Among Trio of Top Schools

Iowa became the first Power 5 school to offer Will Levis a scholarship. That carries weight as the Connecticut quarterback works towards a decision later this month:

Good job by KOK and the recruiting staff spotting this kid ... in Connecticut of all places. He looks like a good athlete in the highlights and throws a nice ball. That's an insane SPARQ for a QB, especially a pro-style QB. I wonder if the rating agencies factor SPARQ in to their ratings? If so, could see him bumped up to a 4 star if they have not factored that in yet. He must be a smart cookie also with offers from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc..

Hopefully we beat out Florida State, Ole Miss and any other late offers.

Do you think they told this kid about KF's glory days of playing linebacker for UCONN? He really dominated the line in Storrs CT for several years. KOK started his coaching career at New Haven U. While these experiences might seem like a long time ago, especially for a high school kid to understand, its important to remind him of the Hawks deep roots in The Nutmeg State.

Rob, do you think we still end up with a QB in the 2018 class? If so, who do you believe are some guys we could land now that Levis is off the board?

I do still think we may end up with a QB. It's just not good to skip a class at the position. But, if it happens, it's not the end of the world. It just puts more pressure on getting the right guy in '19. I think we all hope it's Duggan but the competition will be stiff.

Carter Bradley from Jacksonville could be a guy the coaches offer with Levis off the board. The problem is we'll be playing catchup with Pitt, Wisconsin and others already having offered. I would anticipate a few more names emerging.
