Congrats to Brad Rogers

I think that he had pretty big shoes to fill with Morse being out ... and I think that he did a pretty darn good job! Those are some quality reps he had in that game!

No doubt about it. Great job and great to see that we can refill after Morse is gone. Morse id certainly needed, but just a great job by Rogers.

He had a solid game and threw some great blocks. Saw a great kick-out block on one of ARob's TDs. Him and Stanzi did run into eachother on one play. They need more reps together, but he's going to be good!!

Hopefully, he can tote the rock a little, as we've seen he has the ability. One more thing to prepare for against us.

The more reps he gets, I anticipate that the more chance we'll see him get to tote the rock at FB too.

No kidding! He had a great game and works really well with Robinson. The HB Sweep Left where Rogers blows up the Offensive Linesman responsible for outside coverage allowing Robinson to cut inside him works very well. I think Iowa could have ran that play many more times today, but didn't want to become one dimensional. That play requires a defensive back to stop it nearly every time.

Wow. And to just think it was only a few weeks ago that Homer was jumping down my throat when I was suggesting that people back off the idea of Rogers moving to tailback. Trust the coaches guys. There is a reason that Rogers has been getting his reps at FB and Coker is getting reps at TB.

Look for Rogers to not only lay the wood on those crushing blocks, but also add a whole new dimension in the single back set as a runner and pass catcher. Basically look to Jerome Bettis at ND for your model.

He is like a moving brick wall. He attacks the inside shoulder of defender and turns them away... then there is no movement by defender......

He will only become more explosive in this regard.

I am one of those that has stated they like the three receiver set over the full back... but when the FB is as effective at destroying LBs as our FBs ... it is hard to argue not to use it.

glad he switched positions--I thought maybe he would get lost in the shuffle a bit since he must have to watch his weight and the talent ahead of him at tailback

Great Game no doubt! He had some great blocks especially on the TD....cannot wait to see us use him out of the back field as a reciever. He can move better than morse

I'm not so sure he doesn't become a change up back in the single back set also. As KF gets more comfortable with him having the ball...when we need a few yards...put him back there and run between the tackles. I like this kid a lot and he has a great future in my opinion.

I totally agree. He looks like he would be great in what I like to call Iowa's "Cervantes Set". This would also be an opportunity to get ARob a rest, if they continue to use him as the sole halfback.

Good hands catching the ball out of the backfield as well. Had a nice 10 yard plus gain on one play that I remember.

Yep, I was just going to post to this effect! BR worked well as a safety valve on that play, for good yardage.
