Saw him single-handedly win the California HS Basketball tournament against a stacked team of future D-1 players. To end the game, he kept running back on D, stealing the ball, and then driving the court and scoring. It was insane.

The two big plays on defense at the end of the game in the paint reminded me of that young Kidd.

He is about 3 steps slower than he used to be, but he is still contributing at a high level due to his basketball IQ and poise.

I've always been a Jason Kidd fan. IIRC weren't he and Andre Woolridge in the same class? Seems hard to believe because it feels like Andre graduated from Iowa a lifetime ago (1997?)

I'm not a Heat fan. All of my life, since I have moved throughout the country and world, I have had the mindset that I should root for the local team. As a result, I consider myself an Orlando Magic fan, although no one in Tampa really cares about them.

However, I also have a soft spot for many of the teams I followed along the way (including the Iowa Hawkeyes). I have always liked the Mavs. The first sporting event I ever went to was a Mavs game, during the Derek Harper years.

I have to agree. Peoples judgement on the heat is so clouded that they really dont understand that the mavs were the WORST possible team that should have won.

Yeah, cause the Heat are a classy bunch Chalmers and Haslem have never had any run-ins with the law.

But no one is hating on Chalmers or Haslem. My point is that people hate James and Wade for the way they act, while ignoring the fact that Jason Terry shows up his opponents every chance he gets, and Jason Kidd has had problems as well.

I am not going to hate on either of them (Kidd or Terry), and I'm glad they won, I just find the juxtaposition amusing.
