So illinois a 7 seed?. Minnesota in. Both of whom finished lower than iowa in the big ten. Rpi is what it is but tournament is not played in November, its played in March. I beleive iowa finished winning 6 of their last 8 regular season in the toghest conference That should be worth something.

ILL getting a 7 seed was a bit surprising. They were certainly rewarded for some big wins. But ranking them as a 7 or a top 28 team is crazy.

how many times were PSU, NEB, and NW involved in those huge wins down the stretch?

Iowa had the easiest schedule in the "toughest conference".

Iowa did not deserve to be in. get over it

Toughest conference.....yet we played a cake schedule within said conference, and won 1 game of note within that conference.

Neither did Minnesota who took the last 2 months of the season off. 1 and done.

Iowa beat Wisky once and then had a favorable Big Ten schedule and there OOC play was absolute crap. Illinois and Minny played and beat tougher teams. This isn't a tough concept to grasp.

People think it's 1991 and that conference standing matters. I mean, I wish it did, this year at least, (though it really shouldn't) but it doesn't.

15 of 21 wins-USD, TAMCC, Howard, CMU, Gardner Webb, UTPA, CMU, SC State, Coppin, St, Penn St (2), NW (3), NU plus wins against Wisky, MN, and IL.

I can't believe people actually thought we were getting in

Probably true. Iowa did not deserve to get in.

Neither did 20-11 Oklahoma, or 20-11 Minnesota.

Oklahoma had absolutely no good out of conference wins and lost to Gonzaga by 25 on a neutral court, at Arkansas and to fricking Stephen F. Austin. They were a little above average team in the Big 12 in a year that the conference was not that good. They lost their last game of the year to TCU and then lost in the 1st round of the Big 12 tournament, yet still get in with a 10 seed. TCU lost to Northwestern by 24 points by the way, just to illustrate how horrible they are.

The Big 12 sucked and should have only gotten 4 teams in.

Minnesota just plain sucked and were a badddd team by the end of the season.

First of all, Minnesota is a terrible basketball team. Im not sure what these ESPN guys have been watching, or havent been, but this is a horrendous basketball team, one and done. Regarding Iowa, they had their chances. Every opportunity they had to close games out, they ****** them all away. Develop some toughness and leadership and they might be able to punch their ticket next year.

Its clearly the refs fault.

Minney is not IN in my mind. I am just giving their opponent a first round bye to the next round.
Minney....what a joke.

I was shocked how much love ESPN was giving Minnesota today. Apparently they haven't seen them play for the last month. Of course Digger also said Joseph Bertrand would help give Minnesota an advantage over UCLA so that gives you an idea of research that he does.

Oklahoma also has good wins. If iowa would have beaten a ku caliber team like ou did, you guys would be in the tourney. Who deserved to make it in over ou? The notion is absurd.
