Which game have you had a higher confidence level going into?

It's not as close as it should be for me, but I felt so terrible about our chances at the Big House last year. This year, while I'm not on the kool-aid enough to think we win, I'm optimistic we can keep it close and see what happens.

The OP is trying to point out the futility (a flamer, for sure) of Iowa VS tOSU similar to the thrashing Iowa took against Meechegen last year.....The poll results are strange... In 2012, Meechegan was still using shoelaces as QB.. The no-arm, afraid of contact QB. I thought Iowa had a real chance in that game... Then Meechegan put in Gardner.. the running, strong-armed QB. Iowa's secondary imploded. Iowa's defense was spread out (and ineffective). This season, tOSU has a QB similar to Gardner. Same result as Meechegan last year. Iowa's secondary will implode. Iowa's defense will be spread out (and ineffective). My answer to the poll: I was more confident in an Iowa win against Meechegen in 2012 (with shoelaces as QB).

Both are VERY low on the confidence meter, but Iowa does at least have a run d this year. That's more than they had last year.

I'm confident that the bucknuts will have no problem in covering the spread. Very confident. Free money confident.

More fail from Homer. Iowa played Michigan last year on November 17. Shoelaces had not started at QB for Michigan since their game against Nebraska on October 27. It was pretty well known that Robinson couldnt even throw the ball going into the Iowa game and he actually started that game at RB.

Much more confident in Iowa chances Saturday against Ohio St than last year against Michigan.

#1 Iowa has a college level QB this year than has shown the ability to make simple throws and isn't rattled when defenders get within 5 yards of him
#2 Despite the fact that 2013 Ohio St is much better than 2012 Michigan, Iowa is much better this year than last really across the board except for a spot or two
#3 Last year's defense was a step above helpless, much better overall this year even with the big pass plays they've given up

You really weren't paying attention. Robinson started the game at running back and stayed there all day (ran for 98 yards). He didn't attempt a single pass all game. Gardner had been calling signals for the two games leading up to our trip to Ann Arbor and had everyone wondering why they didn't him under center, with Robinson at tailback, in the first place.

I definitely feel more confident about beating OSU, but that's due to a couple factors: 1) The Michigan game came at the end of the season when Iowa had already all but hit rock bottom; this game comes earlier, when the depression isn't as deep. 2) This Iowa team is better than last year and I still am not sold on Ohio State being a world beater. Significantly better than Iowa, absolutely. But not truly elite.

I still think we get beat convincingly, but we'll acquit ourselves better than we did against Michigan last year.

Edit: Should have kept reading the thread.

I have zero confidence about tomorrow's likely shellacking in the 'shoe, and by the time Michigan rolled around last year the season had pretty much ended already and I no longer gave "confidence going into the game" any thought at all.

So I can't vote because "2013 zero" is probably roughly equivalent to "2012 game 11 of a crappy season apathy".

Wow, what did you guys know about the QB of Michigan (Gardner) after what, 3 starts, that made you less confident of an Iowa win against Michigan last year, than an Iowa win, this year, against tOSU? I don't think professional sports analysts had a bead on Gardner after 3 starts... But you... How much did you make betting? You're just hoping, I see. Let's hope you're right...
