With very few exceptions, most of the coaches on the list had better talent than what Fran had when he first got here. Fran has gotten the most out of what he had. This program is headed in the right direction.

but each of those situations has to be put in the right context. Bruce Weber may very well not have another 50-game stretch like that again in his Illinois career after he came into a situation with Dee Brown, Deron Williams, Luther Head and two solid front court players.

Iowa basketball had been discarded by the side of the road when Fran came in. The team is showing improvement, which is encouraging.

I think his math is ok. He's saying Fran needs 4 wins this year to equal the season high total of 15 that lick had in season 2.

I think a better measurement will be 4 years. I am not even sure Iowa could have fielded a team had they let Lick coach another year.

that's my point lick had as his best season his 2nd at 15-17, Fran is at 11 games and needs 4 more to match that win mark.
with 6 to match the 2 year total. Fran is clearly doing better and his recruiting class for next season being a Top 25 class on ESPN, is light years ahead of Lick in recruiting
