Combine Question

apologize if this has already been discussed.

I know Iowa has a lot of representation at the combine again this year. Was wondering whether it is typical for NFL-caliber talent to skip the Spring semester of classes in order to focus on training for the combine? Realize some of these kids have red-shirted and theoretically may be in position to graduate in December. But if you don't redshirt and/or need five full years to graduate, it would seem to be a conflict between classwork and combine prep ... a lot of $$ potentially riding on focusing exclusively on improving your 40 time or bench press reps as opposed to balancing classwork. Just wondering if there is any insight as to what top talent typically does in this predicament, or if NFL takes this into account whether a prospect is still managing classwork or not?

I doubt kids who only have a semester left skip that last semester.

But a kid like Amari Spievey didnt return to Iowa his Spring semester.
