they are officially in the Pac 10. Sorry Baylor.

Nebraska to Big Ten will be announced tomorrow.

I think the Missouri people are really, really nervous right now...they are hated in their (soon to be dead) league, and they dont know if the Big Ten wants them.

Screw Mo. Let them stay where they belong,in the Big 12. Add Houston and TCU,move OK and Ok St to the north, and let the Pac Ten stew in their own juices...

ISU/KU/KSU/Mizzou/Baylor as a block are big-time enough that they can stay in the Big XII and pull other nearby schools in like TCU, BYU, Utah, Memphis, and (if the Big East ends up destroyed) Cincy and Louisville.

I don't think they stay together. I think MO eventually makes it to the Big 10 and the others get poached individually to other conferences. Some may go together, but the Big 12 is dead.

I don't think so. There is not 1 anchor school or nationally relevant football school there. Outside of STL and KC there are no TV markets either. Plus, unless 6 schools remain the Big 12 folds, so they would need to form their own conference. Big Mountain would be their best bet, getting the top of the mountain states.

MO desperately needs to get into the Big 10 or their fate is as bleak as the rest of the Big 12 North.

I heard a Chip Brown interview on 1310 The Ticket where he said that TX is not happy about Mizzou publicly lobbying to join the BigTen and has brought up voting Mizzou out of the BigXII if they somehow stay together. Oh the irony.

For those old enough the remember, John Elway, coming out of Stanford, balked at going to the Colts, saying he wanted to play on the west coast, then he turned around and signed with the Broncos. He caught crap for his obvious posturing to get away from the Colts (who sucked back then). Who knew back then that he was actually correct - Colorado really is on the Pacific.

So Texas can now officially blame Colorado for "forcing" them to leave the big 12 instead of Nebby.

It's all really good PR that has been planned long ago. Fox is negotiating the Pac's new television network. They had been planning to bring the marketable teams in the Big 12 for a long time. However, they didn't want the bad PR of making it look like they were breaking up the league for selfish financial reasons.

The Colorado decision today is probably just a way to lock Baylor out of the process before Nebraska makes the break-up of the Big 12 official. Now the rest of the Big 12 south teams can just argue bad timing for Baylor.

Fox wasn't going to support a network locked into one time zone, or two late time zones. They worked it out to get the league they wanted. But again, they couldn't tip their hand and also didn't want the bad press. Nebby and the Big Ten are Fox partners. They knew they could absorb the press so they let the blame fall on the Big Ten and the Huskers.

Remember, the Pac Ten hired the guy who put the Big Ten network together with Fox months ago. People need to stop being naive and think these are a bunch of individual decisions being made and that these leagues are not to some extent in collusion. You are dealing with the MOST SAVVY media and PR organization in the world. Do you really think they aren't controlling the process and the spin?
