Cole Banwart Raised to Work at Iowa

Seems like a good kid, I can't imagine what it's like growing up in a town with only 42 people! Hell by the time I was 10 I had more than 42 friends that I hung out with regularly. I hope he can see a lot of success here, it seems like his childhood has groomed him to be a hard worker and if he continues, he'll at least get a chance in the NFL.

Make no mistake about it...that's a tough, hard-nosed part of the state. If you find D1 football players there, sign them before they go to the Dark (red) Side. We want to keep Nebraska soft.

There's a very small town near where I grew up that uses an old baseball scoreboard with number placards to show the population. It's placed at the edge of town so it's visible as you drive through. I always thought it was neat.

I have been trying to keep my eye on Banwart, because IIRC, he got the scholarship offer the year that one of the state’s Top 5 - Dykstra did not.

Once again, Iowa coaches know what they are doing and don’t let stars sway them on recruits. I can’t say I have followed what Dykstra is doing or where, but it looks like the choice of Banwart over Dykstra was really a good result for us.
