Coaching "mental stability"

I apologize if someone's already commented on this, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Every time I heard the Heat coach, he was emphasizing to his players to be mentally stable. What a handicap to have to stress mental stability at every opportunity.

Is that another way of saying his team is not too bright? Because they sure have the talent. But boy they play stupid at times.

He is probably the worst NBA coach, coaching for the NBA Championship, of all time. I will be shocked if he is retained next year. I'm talking about X's and O's, not the fact that he had 3 of the best players in the league. The plays that he drew up for final shots were basically junior high level. He needs to go back to his former job in the video room.

He's pretty similiar to Mike Brown, good defensive coach, poor offensive coach.

He sounded like Vinny Del Negro...mouthing coaching cliches to the sideline interviewer, but then even worse, repeating the same mantra in the huddle.
99% of NBA coaches are screaming about energy,rebounding,defense...and he is talking about ''mental stability''?...I thought it was a bad moment for Spoelstra.

He lacks the gravitas to shape these stars into a true team, like Phil Jackson did with MJ and the Bulls in the 1989-91 seasons. Phil came in,and forced MJ to change his approach and I just do not see Spoelstra having a strong enough personality to force Lebron to change his game. Lebron needs more than a strong drive to the hoop or three point shot...that is enough in the regular season, maybe, but in the last couple of rounds of the playoffs, you need mid-range pullups, working off the ball to get open down low, post up game...this aint AAU ball,Lebron.

The inmates run the asylum in Miami. When your entire offense is basically a screen or two for Wade or James, and then it's up to them to create, you're trusting their decision making entirely, and not the offensive scheme. They need a coach who can manage the egos but still impose a little more will and structure. Spolestra may be that guy, but he's looking like a pretty face who "advises" the big three on how to do their thing, rather than the guy running the show.

Too many drives and jump passes, too many AAU half court "sets." They need a real PG....

There was a huge difference in ball movement and getting reversals for open looks against the perimeter defense between Mavs and Heat. A zone fronted by two midgets took the Heat out of their game last night. WTF?
