Obviously many threads have been written and many more will. I just watched a few of the videos that have been done. I almost can't get through them. After 20 years it still hurts badly. I never once met Chris Street, yet his death is one of the worst days of my life. What an amazing person he was to make such an impact on an entire state. Anyone else still struggling with this? I can't imagine the impact on his friends, family, and community.

I wasn't yet alive when Chris passed, so I don't know how that feeling of losing him was to the Hawkeyes that are older than I am. I have read many of the articles as well as watched the 40 Forever production. Watching that definitely gave me an insight to the entire situation, it really showed me some of the emotion of the people that were closely impacted by his death. After learning more about Street and the type of game he played, and more importantly the type of person and Hawkeye he was, I am very excited for tonight's game. I hope every has a few tissues in their pockets because it'll be an emotional remembrance of one of the greatest Hawkeyes ever.

‎20 years ago today my sports world was turned upside down. I was 8 years old and I remember my dad telling me Chris Street had died in an auto accident. 2 years and 14 days after I lost my aunt Roxanne in an auto accident. Both were taken from us way too soon. It was tough to comprehend that I could never see my aunt again or get to watch Chris Street play for my beloved Hawkeyes. All we can do is remember and honor them.
Today Iowa and 15,500 strong will honor Chris Street at Carver.
CMS40 gone but never forgotten.

Posted that on my facebook page. To sum up my feelings could actually be put in one sentence. Basically to me it's great to remember the good times but that's what hurts the most knowing that we all have missed out on so many more good times

Yes. Same age as Chris and met him several times while at Iowa. He grew up with a good friend of mine before they both moved to other schools so I've also been thinking about how my old friend is doing this week.
