C'mon, CJ is still good but maybe feeling pressure to make plays

I think CJ sees the lack of blocking for a really good run game and feels every pass play needs to be made. He maybe feels the pressure to make every play rather than last year just playing the game.

So far this year he has made some great passes, when he has the time etc he can make the throws, he was calling the plays in the hurry up today that was working well, not his fault we went away from the hurry up or that many plays dont have open receivers.

The offensive line is not getting it done in the running game and I think CJ feels he has to make every throw.

I think he has seven games of eligibility left and the backup has three years and seven games. If the season keeps going this direction, I'm way more interested in the backup.

I agree that the coaches need to get Stanley some more snaps.

Left Tackle is getting him killed. Not comfortable at all in pocket. No time to stretch field.

Pass blocking has not been good, but CJ has also shown very little pocket awareness. There was one sack today where he literally walked backwards right into the arms of a guy who was getting blocked.

I don't believe CJ is being aggressive in the running game. I'm not sure if he's being coached that way, if it's the knee brace, if he just wants to ensure he stays healthy or perhaps he knows he won't run in the NFL so he is trying to show he can be that pocket passer. Furthermore, when he has run he's paid the price a couple times, specifically against NDSU where he was injured on one run and had to leave the game and another play he took the late hit out of bounds which drew a flag.

No matter the reasoning he just doesn't seem to be the guy that we saw against ISU last year making plays with his feet.

If a QB is in the Qirk system long enough the touch of suck will eventually reach him. It reached Rudock in only his second season as a starter. Now we're seeing it again.

The difference in CJ is that last year he never waited against pressure. He was at his best throwing on the run or off balance. He played like Farve. This year they've coached him "up" to plant, set, and stay in the pocket like Brady. Problem is there is no pocket and that's not who CJ is. He has a cannon on the run and when the weight is shifted right. His arm is more mediocre when he sets and plants.
