Clemmons needs to shot more, even if he misses

He just wasnt looking to shoot and it became obvious to MSU. Cant have that as then it is 5 on 4. He needs to take the open jumper.

I dont even see him trying to drive and bend the opponents defense and look for a layup or floater or dish it.

someone get in his ear and tell him to get aggressive.

I would like no more than to see him really push Gesell for playing time because that would mean sapp is playing much better

He can make 33% just like the other guys, I would rather have missed shots and possible rebound than a turnover or a bunch of dribbling around and a forced shot with 1 second left on the shot clock

Clemmons isn't a shooter. He's a defender and sometimes that doesn't even happen.

He has been very up and down at Iowa and it's very frustrating since Iowa needs consistent guard play.

And he can shoot ok from 3 pt range and 15 feet. Needs to shoot to get some confidence.

I'm 39, have been a basketball fan since I was 5 and watched Steve Carfino, Payne, and Stokes and company. To this day when I hear someone say a player is looking to penetrate I still giggle.

Our guards are not good. Considering we truly only play a two at a time, it's difficult to understand why this position is lacking talent.

Gesell can hold his own but he's not a shooting guard. Oglewinkel is just flat out bad. Jok has skills but the kid is still playing like he is in his 10th game as a college player instead of a contributing sophomore. Clemmons tries but I don't see any way he plays minutes on another B1G team. The cupboard is bare.

Play Uhl and just have all the length on the floor. He is a much better shooter than any of those listed above and it's impossible to play worse defense. Go big or go home at this point.

White was meaningless last night. Why not put Woody and Gabe in together and try and get MSUs bigs into further foul trouble. Try something different for once. Clearly in the 2nd half, something needed to change.

You can't shoot the ball if your defender is on you like stink of $hit....MSU put the clamps on Iowa in the 2nd half and got hot knocking down 3's, plain and simple....Clemmons is not "looking" to shoot or score, and frankly no one else was in the 2nd half....Expect more of the same if Iowa can't find a way to get their guards more involved.....Jok are you listening? I watched the 1st half at a local bar, and by the time I got home we were already down 5...How in the hell does that happen?

You know, i kind of like that suggestion. Uhl is the one younger guy that looks like he could contribute more. the other guards are not good. top 3 guards of gesell,jok,uhl is as good as any to me. I like the idea of uhl and gesell playing in the backcourt at times. the other combinations have not been good. I think jok has to play at least 20 minutes a game.
