Clayborns coming back.....

according to Rob Howe @ HawkeyeInsider.com, Clayborn says the NFL can wait. I love it! Hope that's ok to pass along.

He's a smart kid. The only guys that should consider jumping are guys that are all-but- guaranteed first round status.

I understand the tempation for players to jump this year, with a rookie salary cap looming. However, the cap will likely only effect first rounders.

And mostly QBs at that. QBs (with the exception of Sanchez and Smith) usually sit a bit before getting to prove themselves in a game situation.

Maybe Adrian realizes how close the team came to getting to the promised land, and decided that the money is going to be there anyway.

Either way, I hope this decision leads to the other guys who might be leaning towards coming out to stay for their senior years as well.

I really believe after listening to Norm Parker, that all 3 players will be coming back. Throw in Dace Richardson. The dream season will be next year.

AWESOME news.

One thing is certain, (from my observations, this season at Kinnick) HAWKEYE fans LOVE Adrian Clayborn. The guy is wildly popular with Hawkeye fans.

He got the loudest ovation when the team was introduced at halftime on Saturday night, and it wasn't even close.

I still don't think that Spievey returns ... however, we'll see.

Clayborn sticking around is huge though!

What I've heard before suggests that Dace likely won't stick around ... however, that is also before he had spoken to the coaches. With any luck the coaches are able to convince him to stick around.

As for Bulaga ... a big part of that will end up depending on what advise Ferentz gives and whether the info that Ferentz gathers suggests that Bulaga is a definite first round choice.

I have said this on the radio, as Deace and I played 'Fantasy Football Keeper League' scenario with 19, 94 and 79..I said if I could only get to pick one that I got to ensure would stay for another year at Iowa, 94 was my pick...because I think Iowa will have the best front four in America now...

That is a huge step towards a great 2010

I thought Reiff was 77? Great, now we have to worry about him bolting?! ;)

Homer,

After listening to Norm Parker saying that Neither Spievey or Clayborn are ready for the NFL and telling the media that they are crazy if they think that Spievey and Clayborn will be leaving for the NFL, why do you still think that Spievey is gone? Do you have any sources? I am not doubting you, just wondering why you believe this? I thought Spievey was gone too until I heard Norm Parker speak. I would like to think Norm Parker is a pretty good source.

I've been about 99% sure that Spievey is gonna leave. There have been rumors that he has stopped attending class, and hates school to begin with. Also, there was that DMR article, which basically said his family needs the money. I believe it stated that his mother didn't have a job. If all that is true, he should go for it. Another year would help, but no school and money NOW is probably tempting.

Having said all that, Parker's comments make me not so sure about it. We'll see, but I'd still bet on him bolting.
