Clayborn and Ferentz Officially Comment on Cabbie Incident

Adrian realizes he shouldnt have gotten violent. But as I always say, Ferentz knows more in these situations than we do...and the punishment fit the 'crime'. That cabbie has a set. Shonn Greene was with Clayborn that night, too

Yeah, I have never really ascribed to the sticks and stones argument. Some words enact as much psychic harm as a punch in the gut does physical harm and research shows the pyschic stuff has longer lasting effects.

At some point our legal system will catch up with our behavioral research.

I love this quote from KF:

I think the biggest mistake he made that day was getting out of the car. If he stayed in the car, nothing would’ve happened

Actually his biggest mistake that day was punching the cabbie even though he had it coming. KF should have just stuck to the part about not getting out the car and nothing happens.

Nope, KF had it right. The mistake was getting out of the car and putting himself in that situation. Once he was in the situation I think he handled himself accordingly.

Ferentz said the biggest mistake was getting out of the car... ergo that was a bigger mistake than slugging the cabbie.

Man, it must feel good to have your coach understand that and have your back. No wonder players love him. Cabbie had it coming.

I unfortunately have been in a similar situation with an employee who I was getting ready to ream out until he told me what happened. Then my rage went in a different direction.

I pulled out my list and sure enough, this came in at #1 on my list of things not to do in my life. How could you be that stupid?

Here's the top 3 from my list:

1. Shout racial slurs at Shonn Greene and Adrian Clayborn.
2. Make out with Rosie O'Donnal.
3. Drop the soap in a prison shower.

Cabbie got what he deserved. Where are the Moo U fans now? If there are "ear" witness testimony besides Greene and Clayborn, this cabbie should be shown the door as well.

The cabbie is lucky that Shonne was there and so is Adrian. The situation could have gotten really ugly. Shonne showed real maturity and Adrian demonstrated from his answers during his Big Ten Days interview that he also has grown from the experience. As I've said before, any bigot stupid enough to use a racial slur in a setting where you have no idea who you are dealing with is a fool. The fact that the cabbie made no more statements after the initial police report indicates he knew his position was indefensible. I would bet that the ICPC, DMR and CR Gazette all tried to get a statement from him, but I saw nothing where anyone did.

I think you would be giving too much credit to those "news" sources.

It sounds like something Madden would say :)
